From 2020 to 2021, as the majority of the UK was confined to their homes, I spent lockdown in some of the country's last remaining ancient woodlands, on the frontlines of environmental destruction and deforestation in the UK. Despite the whole world being in a state of flux, for HS2 (High Speed Rail 2), it was business as usual. This meant the ongoing demolition of houses, local businesses and over 108 ancient woodlands. For a year I lived within, and documented, the communities resisting this destruction, from tree occupations to marches, trespasses to community gatherings and so much more.
